Naydenov Oleg Petrovich


The good name of Naydenov is still remembered by Murmansk residents and residents of the region. Since 1969, his labor feat has been associated with the capital of the Arctic. As a competent business executive and administrative worker, Oleg Petrovich remained in people's memory.
Naydenov was highly educated. He graduated from the technical school of agricultural mechanization in the city of Berezhany in 1966, then he studied at the faculty of economics and organization of construction production in Leningrad at the Institute of Railway Transport Engineers. He graduated from this university in 1988 with a degree in engineer-economist in absentia.
After passing military service (1966 - 1969), he worked as an electrician, was a foreman of the energy group. During the period of active housing construction in Murmansk, Oleg Petrovich was at the head of the construction industry. Since 1976, he was the director of the non-metallic materials plant of the Glavmurmanskstroy department, later he was deputy chief engineer and deputy director. Naydenov headed the Stroykonstruktsiya plant since 1982. The period of "perestroika" in the USSR began for Oleg Petrovich with his replacement as deputy head of the Soyuzvzryvprom special department. In May 1987, an experienced business executive decides to go into politics. The last years of the life of the USSR for Naidenov were held as deputy chairman and chairman of the Pervomaisky District Council of Deputies of the city of Murmansk.
He entered the history of modern Russia as the chairman of the executive committee, the head of the administration and the mayor of Murmansk (1991–2003).
The authority of Naydenov among the people, won by years of fruitful work, contributed to the fact that he twice (1996, 2000) won the election of the mayor of the city. He had a high level of trust among the townspeople: in the 2000 elections he received 84.1% of the vote.
Only a man of great willpower and rare courage was able to take the helm of the region's administration in the most difficult decade for the country - the "dashing nineties". He managed not only to preserve the wealth of the people, but also to increase it. The social orientation of the work of the first mayor in the history of Murmansk was embodied in the organization of real permanent social programs (“Cheap Bread”, “Cheap Fish”, etc.). The best students were supported by the mayor's scholarship. Naydenov is one of the initiators and organizers of the construction of the memorial complex "To those who died at sea". In the conditions of the most difficult financial and economic situation, Oleg Petrovich understood how important it is to take care of citizens, to make their life happier. So, with his great support, the famous Oceanarium was opened in Murmansk in 1996 - a favorite vacation spot for local residents and guests of the Arctic.
He was vice-president of the Union of cities of the Arctic and the Far North. Naydenov - the owner of a large number of awards: the Order of Friendship (1995), St. Blessed Prince. Daniel Mosk. II Art. (2002), medal "Veteran of Labor" (1988), badge "For Merit to the Murmansk Region" (2003, posthumously).
He was awarded the honorary title "Honored Builder of the Russian Federation" (2001). He was declared an honorary citizen of the city of Murmansk posthumously in 2004.
The name of O. P. Naydenov was given to the park and cultural zone near Semenovsky Lake, Murman. det. theatre. center, trawler MTF. A memorial plaque was installed on the building of the Church of the Savior on the Waters. An annual kickboxing tournament is held in his name. A charitable foundation named after O. P. Naydenova. Oleg Petrovich died on May 22, 2003. Buried in Murmansk.
